I could try to explain how that all works but my english isn't that good so I'll just post a link to the Chicken Smoothie tutorial that helped me a lot with those kinds of questions.

did you do it on photoshop though? how could you change the picure there?

Now, I draw my pictures in Gimp. And I don't think I get what you mean with changing it. o_O Making different colours and looks?

when you change the picture fom baby to adult

0_o I just draw a baby form, a child form and an adult form... I upload the baby picture on my photobucket account and insert the url of the picture in the codes provided. And to make the pet grow I just delete the baby picture from the photobucket account, rename the child picture on my computer, so that the name is exactly the same as the baby picture's name and upload it again on my photobucket account. The url stays the same, the picture changes. That's how the pets grow. But that's exactly what is described in the CS tutorial...
